The Peggy Bedford was situated at 400 Bath Road. It opened in 1928 when the old Peggy Bedford was delicensed, and has now been demolished, with a McDonalds and Shell petrol station standing on the site.

The original site was 270m to the west along Bath Road, prior to rebuilding in 1928 (at the same time as the Colnbrook Bypass was constructed). Peggy Bedford was a former proprietor of the "King's Head" (her family were there in 1775 and she died in 1859), and the rebuilt pub may have taken her name upon rebuilding, though it was certainly in use (at least as an alternative) earlier than that.

The pub was the club meeting place for many years.

The name of this pub is given as the King's Head in the 1874 directory and earlier. This name may continue to have been used interchangeably with The Peggy Bedford after this time (it still appears as the name on Ordnance Survey maps, for example, well into the 20th century). Peggy Bedford was a former proprietor of the King's Head; her family were there in 1775 and she died in 1859 (see http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=22382).
